Field Notes — Setu Textiles

We source so your suppliers can’t surprise you.

Setu is a women-owned sourcing partner based in Mauritius. We find, verify and move textiles between India and the world — quietly, with paperwork your auditor will actually read.

A laundered linen programme, photographed in natural light. We source and verify the same grade for hospitality clients.
Origins

We write provenance down.

Every metre we move comes with a paper trail a buyer can defend in a meeting. Mill, cut, finish, dye-house, packer, shipper. Not because it sounds good in a deck, but because that is what an ESG claim actually requires when someone asks.

Margin note: a chain of custody is the difference between a sustainability claim and a sustainability record.

“The first question we always get from a new buyer is: can you prove it? The second is: how fast?”

Lovlesh Kishun, on behalf of Setu World Ltd
Cross-border

Less drama, more shipping.

We sit across the Indian Ocean trade lanes, source in India, and can ship from India or Mauritius. Our job is to take the customs, the currency, the certification paperwork and the last-minute mill change off your desk.

How we work

Four steps, no theatre.

Services
i.

Brief

Tell us the spec, the volume, the destination. We respond inside one working day.

ii.

Source

We match against our vetted Indian mill base and quote a shortlist with origin and capacity.

iii.

Verify

GOTS, OEKO-TEX, SMETA, social audits — we line up the standard the brief actually needs.

iv.

Move

Documentation, freight, customs, final-mile. One point of contact until it lands.

Where it’s made. Who made it. What it’s certified for.

Verification ledger

Standards we navigate, not hold.

Setu does not hold certifications. We work with accredited third parties to verify the standards below across our supply chain — and we tell you exactly who issued what.

GOTS Organic fibre chain of custody

We confirm GOTS scope at the mill level and pass documentation to the buyer.

OEKO-TEX Chemical safety testing

OEKO-TEX Standard 100 verified at component level through certified labs.

SMETA Social / ethical audit

SMETA 4-pillar audits arranged with accredited providers on request.

BSCI Social compliance

BSCI audits coordinated where buyers require them.

A note on us

Women-owned, in fact.

Setu World Ltd is women-owned. We align with supplier-diversity frameworks such as SheTrades and WEConnect, so a spend with us can count toward your diversity programme — where your policy allows.

Contact / RFQ

Send us a brief. We answer inside one working day.

Tell us the fibre, the spec, the volume, the destination. If you don’t have all of that yet, tell us what you do have. We will help you shape the rest.
